Too soon

Well, that didn't work. Too much freedom, not enough time.

Matt has been on medication lately that doesn't allow for alcohol, and today was his last day. He's mentioned a few times how he'd like to drink some beer, so I picked up a six-pack on the way home. I told him it was a celebratory six-pack, but he said he had one pill left and couldn't drink until tomorrow. Guess who stepped up?

Right.

Back on Antabuse tomorrow.

Hi Missy,
I'm glad to hear it, actually. Every once in a while I check on the definition of "moderate drinking" (to see if it's changed ;-) and it's always one drink a day for women. Not fair.. but it's the way we process alcohol. More than that can cause health problems.

It's a real trick to have just one a day.

Well, Mel, it is what it is. A sixer is not exactly falling off the deep end, but I recognize that you felt and feel that the Urges for Bottle had won that parry.

If you're anything like me (and we share some DNA, y'know) it is a decidedly slippery slope, once the seal is broken.

So, I applaud you for jumping back on the 'Buse Wagon. The trick is staying on it; it bucks like a mofo.

Lexi, that "to see if it's changed" made me laugh :)

Decidedly slippery indeed, Adam. Would you be surprised to know that I drank again Wednesday? And that I didn't stop at all with two? It's pretty clear to me now that I'm going to have to stay on it.
